I, too, have had less-than-pleasant experiences with ATI's display drivers for their low-end video cards at driving multiple monitors or a high-res monitor (nothing crazy, just 1920x1200). *Takes another note on why should always prefer nVidia to ATI* Maybe I'll have Win 7 with modded drivers and keep the manufacturer's with Win XP, since it's causing problems, but will have to test the modded drivers for Win 7 first. #Amd anthlon ii x2 p340 and ati mobility radeon hd 4250 install#I'll try to reinstall the drivers, and if this persists, I'll rollback to Toshiba's provided drivers, although they are 2/3 years outdated.Īlso, I'll install in short time Win 7 to benefit from more system RAM and new DirectX versions. If I continue, sometimes, a message of ATI's VPU Recover appers to warn that the graphics configurations/drivers were set to default (or something like that) and to send error report.Īs for when viewing videos, it "lags" a lot, just like in games (although I can play some recent ones that I wasn't able to play at all before), something that didn't happen before when using the manufacturer's provided drivers. It became so frequent that I was able to see the file's name before the forced restart.ĮDIT: Meanwhile detected another "error", when viewing and navigating between pictures, the pc freezes for a couple of seconds, the screen blacks out multiple times and then comes back only to see the pictures chopped or with other textures bugs. I'm getting some random BSOD related to ati2dvag.dll, sometimes multiple times a day and mostly when I'm not playing any game, just doing ordinary stuff. PS: I see that you already gave the answer for my question upthere (at least half of it): I'll try your modded drivers to see if it works in the way that I desire, updating my laptop graphics card drivers (and Catalyst), since the ones that the laptop's brand provides are very outdated (2008.) and I'm starting to have some troubles running recent games. Or does AMD/ATI still provide a Win XP download for the latest drivers? #Amd anthlon ii x2 p340 and ati mobility radeon hd 4250 mod#So, my question is, (how) did you mod these Win 7/Vista drivers to also be compatible with Win XP? I was told at this thread (before noticing yours) that ATI Mobility v11.2 drivers were only released for Win 7 (and Vista if a look is given to AMD's site here: AMD.com | Support & Downloads ) and therefore, Win XP was left aside without any latest drivers. I'm another new guy to this forum, ended up here searching for updated drivers for my ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 graphics card. Once again, I just bumbled through and I am not at all sure what I did even made sense or if it was just dumb luck.īut thanks a lot to dansrfe and others who offered tips! The goal is try it on a 1920 x 1200 monitor in short order. ![]() There has so far been no instability of any sort after a half day's running. I only install CCC on my other machines with dual monitors that rotate.Ĭurrently it is working well on 1680 x 1050. All I needed was the "XP_INF" directory really as I have no use for CCC. Be sure not to bury the files too deep in a directory system as there is a maximum character length limit of "88" characters. But installing manually from a "Have Disk" option and then choose "Mobility Radeon HD 4250" from the list works. #Amd anthlon ii x2 p340 and ati mobility radeon hd 4250 driver#
